Currently :: February 2016
This entry is part 2 of 10 in the series Currently

A new month means that it’s time for another Currently.

February’s prompts from Anne and Jenna are: sending, eating, dreaming, smelling, and hearting.

Currently Choosing Happy‘s prompts are: reviewing, loving, reminding, spending, and feeling.

Love to all of my dear ones that are so far away. Sometimes living in Alaska is really hard. I miss my friends and family so much. Especially when it’s still dark so much of the day.
(No, the candlelight in the igloo didn’t blow out.)

Too much. I really need to cut down on my portion sizes. Breastfeeding Van (and Lea before him) really amps up my appetite and my waistline is showing it. Yes, round is a shape, but I’d like to be more fit to be able to keep up with these crazy maniacs Ry keeps telling me are my children.

Of maybe someday having a cooking show. I realized last night watching Triple D, that I would LOVE to have a cooking show of my own. Like Julia Child, Martha Stewart, Paula Deen, etc. I even came up with a name last night, that I am pinning on my wall as a reminder to dream big at home.

Horrible. Sigh. I have been ridiculously bad about hygiene for myself lately. So many other things come before a shower. And don’t even fool yourself, I don’t wear makeup. (and rarely get a brush through that mop that is supposed to be hair.)

The littles milestones.
Van is cruising, and is already learning to talk. At 8 months. Yea. He is so crazy and I love (almost) every minute of it. (I would LOVE it more if I could sleep… Looking at you little mister.)
Lea is becoming very independent. Dressing herself, getting her own snacks (from the designated kid food spots in both fridge and pantry) and she is starting to realize that she has chores… Sort of.
Jam is amazing. He is the focus of our homeschool efforts. And we have been kind of lax about schedule, but he is still learning things faster than I feel like I can keep up with. He’s ‘in kindergarten’ so has the basic alphabet, counting, phonics, some basic math skills, time, seasons, and he LOVES anything science-y.

Costs of everything I want to purchase for the blog.
AND our monthly spending habits. Ry and I really want to get out of debt, and are making it a priority. We are putting as much of our tax return towards it as we can, and then use the rest of the year power paying everything else down. Debt sucks.

The amazing father Ry is. He has what we refer to as ‘Magic Daddy sleeping powers’ as he can get the kids to sleep when nursing fails. (Which with Van is always, booger.)

Myself why we homeschool. Jam is behind in skills compared to his friend that shares his birthday, she goes to the school on base, and it is really hard to keep in mind that we chose a different path, so the individual steps are going to look different.

As little as possible on what we can. The blog is an investment now, I work on it every day, and have a post I’ve been working on detailing how much I have spent on it until now. (It’s not pretty!)

Like I might make it with 3 kids after all. Van is finally getting a little bigger and more independent/curious. So I am not struggling as hard just to survive each day.

A Military Spouse stationed in the middle of nowhere. Emma loves to cook for her family (while dodging dirty dishes).
