Modeling an Older Style

Modeling an Older Style

Lace 7

This is a review of a novel given to me in exchange for an honest review. Not only do I get to read it; I get to give away a physical copy to one of you guys! Schweet!

The book isn’t terribly long; which to me is a good thing, as it’s a bit out of my comfort zone: fashion and clothes. Amanda wants to show our younger generation that the media’s perception of how females should be dressed is in direct conflict with what the Bible teaches, and she hopes to remind and guide us back into the fold. (I say us, because I too needed the kick in the pants regarding how I dress.) Amanda organized a whole blog book tour, which includes, me too; pretty excited as it’s both my first book review and my first giveaway (oops, my greenie is showing through!)

The Path to a Modest Lifestyle

A Practical Guide

by Amanda Leite

Amanda is the wife to a wonderful husband, daughter of the one true King, cancer survivor, and Oreo lover. Amanda currently lives in Vermont with her family where she writes her blog apinchoffaith.com.

I’ll admit; I procrastinated and just finished reading the book; sorry Amanda! That just means that the writing is still bouncing around in my head, and will probably tumble out nicely.

The way that everything is put together in order is very easy to read and understand; you don’t feel bounced around at all. However, I do wish it felt less like a lesson by the teacher and more like a conversation with a good friend.
There were lots of bible verses throughout and I really enjoyed being able to reference them right there. (Although I will probably go back and read it again, and read my bible along with to get context of the verses themselves, as that is usually how God gets me to really understand and take things to heart. (Apparently I am a bit stubborn =/ )

So, now that I have teased you a little about what the book entails, let’s set up a giveaway for one lucky lady to win her very own copy provided by the author herself!! (Plus a $10 Amazon gift card to buy more reading material! {Provided by me}) Wewt wewt!

This is the book for you, if you are not comfortable in your own skin. It doesn’t seem to matter what style or type of clothing you wear, you still feel awkward.

If you come across this later, and missed the giveaway, I am sorry ):
But you can buy your own copy via amazon! The Path to a Modest Lifestyle

  1. I think this is a great idea. Many women need to be able to feel comfortable and referencing the Bible is always good. God teaches us so many things that, yes, we do not always listen to. Thank you

It sounds like a good read and even though you didn’t delve much into what the book is about, I sense it has to do with being modest… Bravo on your book tour! 🙂

You are right, I could have been a little more specific; I will definitely keep that in mind the next time.
      Thanks for visiting.
