But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Deodorants and antiperspirants are used by about 90% of the US population to improve body odor and prevent sweating. Unfortunately, the hidden truth is that deodorants and antiperspirants actually contain harmful chemicals that are toxic to our bodies. Your personal body odor is determined by your diet, your hormones, your genetics, your lifestyle, your mood, your wardrobe… etc. But that doesn’t mean you have to be anything less than sweetly scented. There are all kinds of healthier natural deodorants that work best at keeping you fresh as a daisy.
Life is complicated. Married life is more so. And when you add kids to the cocktail, sometimes all hell can break loose. Having a printed planner available can really help both yourself, and whoever might step in to help should something happen to you.
Here are a few of my favorite printables that reside within my own family planner.
If it wasn’t for bad luck, I wouldn’t have any. But I am ok with that.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
— Jeremiah 29:11
Everyone loves getting to know the person(s) behind the blog, but these posts spotlight our little ones, a handful of our #MOMbloggers have put together “The Kids Behind The Blog”. A new Linkup showcasing the blessings that call me Momma. Each month you ask your little one(s) a handful of questions that the TKBTB hosts provide and then share those answers with in a link-up post the second Wednesday of each month.

With my oldest; it felt like we went through 100 diaperbags. (I think it was 10) they broke, they were too big, they were ugly, or they just weren’t functional. Just before Lea was born, I found this bag on Amazon for less than a 1/3 of what the other bags of the same brand were going for; so I snagged it. And 3 years later, it’s still getting regular use.
The ultimate diaper bag must:
- Stand the test of time.
- Hold more than a black hole.
- Easy to carry around.
- Look attractive.
- Have flexible and logical organization.
I must confess… this phrase will get my blood boiling faster than you can say ‘dependa’ twice. Mostly because it’s so incredibly judgemental and callous. It is NEVER another person’s job to tear someone down; much less mil-spouses doing it to each other. Yet time and time again, you will see this phrase posted whenever someone even whispers about the possibility of not liking an assignment. And ya know, some of them just suck.
Homeschooling is becoming more and more popular with an average increase of 2-8% every year according to the National Home Education Research Institute (NHERI). What once was a stigma is now slowly becoming the norm. What used to be considered “cutting-edge” by many is almost “mainstream” today. And why not? The benefits are a plenty and it’s never been easier to enroll in a homeschooling program that provides the curriculum and teaching aids for the parents.
But let’s face it; the road of homeschooling is not all sunshine and roses all the time. Let’s take a look at some of the pros and cons of homeschooling your children…
Genesis 2:24 records the moment that God, immediately after creating woman from the rib of man, establishes marriage – the union of a male and a female – as the foundation of the family, the child rearing unit. The meaning of this is as clear as mountain air: God intends for children to be reared by a man and a woman who are committed to one another for life. Period.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
I won’t lie, Ry and I had a rough start to our marriage. We were young (only 18 and 19 when we married) and had a lot of growing up to do. I really wish that we had made it a point to study the bible together as newlyweds; but hindsight is 20-20 and the future is cloudy.
The language of flowers, sometimes called floriography, is a means of cryptological communication through the use or arrangement of flowers. Meaning has been attributed to flowers for thousands of years, and some form of floriography has been practiced in traditional cultures throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
The significance assigned to specific flowers in Western culture varied — nearly every flower had multiple associations, listed in the hundreds of floral dictionaries — but a consensus of meaning for common blooms has emerged. Often, definitions derive from the appearance or behavior of the plant itself.
I hate politics. Mainly because it never fails to cause a fight. I love a discussion; but I haven’t been able to have a really good one without emotions going into overdrive for some time now (Thanks pregnancy and breastfeeding!) And every where I turn (TV Commercials, Facebook, Mommy meetups, Twitter, the coffee shop down the road, etc) SOMEONE is trying to change or sway my opinion. And girl, it just doesn’t work that way. I despise being ‘sold to’ and ‘talked at’ Show me facts, figures, actual concrete things. Not opinion and promises.
So out of curiosity, when a friend shared a link going around Facebook, I filled out the entire questionnaire to see which candidate I actually might vote for. (The answer surprised me, but only because I have been hiding my head in the sand)
It’s no secret that I have suffered from depression since my pre-teen years; if not earlier. It runs in my family. My mom and several of my aunts have forms of depression, and my grandmother was undiagnosed manic depressive. To me; depression is just a way of life. (more…)
It’s simply impossible to simply impossible for us to grasp; that our offspring are HAPPY. They just ARE. And because we have lost this ability, we have a tendency to try to improve their lives; better games, better meals, better activities; and just “happier.” We clean, we plan, we upgrade, we do more, we presume we know their unspoken desires and over prepare.
And what happens? We get a raging headache for all of our laborious drudgery.
KISS; Keep It Simple Stupid! (more…)
When you live thousands of miles away from your closest relative, sometimes getting gifts can be challenging. However, we are trying to transition away from ‘things’ in our life anyways, so we are asking for ‘experience’ gifts for the littles from here on out.
Research indicates that experiences make us happier than things do. With that in mind, some are turning from the mall to the museum, looking for experiences their friends and family can enjoy all year. Giving an experience gift is riskier, he notes, because it falls outside social norms. To choose such a gift, you need to know the recipient’s taste in music, theater, magazines or museums. But the right experience gift rates high on the happiness scale.
What the heck does that even mean? It means that we’d rather give them memories rather than clutter. New learning opportunities rather than something else to pick up and take care of.
The A to Z Challenge is an annual blogging event that encourages writers to post, interact, and network. This is my first year participating, along with almost 2,000 other bloggers! A post each day of April (except Sundays) following alphabetical order.
What is it?
While the majority of avatars are photos from movies, cats, or sometimes memes. The avatar I am talking about using can be seen all over this site, the caricature of one’s self. A digital rendering of your own likeness.
So, I joined a blogging challenge. I have to post every day for the month of April. But not just every day; each day must follow the Alphabet in some way, in order. From A to Z.
They say that it takes 30 days to start a habit; hopefully this will get me in the habit of writing more frequently!
