A new month means that it’s time for another Currently. Month’s prompts from Anne are: doingenjoyingcookingwrapping, and playing.
I am going to join in on Gretchen and Kristin‘s link up called “What’s New With You?” which is more or less the same concept as ‘Currently’. Their prompts are more of a status check-in which will be good for accountability for me.

The Circle is a monthly link-up that was born with dreams of creating a place for bloggers to get to know one another just a little bit better and to make new friends. What's a Blog Hop? Blogging 101 {By an Amateur}

A link party is when a blog that usually has a good amount of traffic hosts an event in which other bloggers are invited to post a link to a blog post they would like featured. The typical Blog Hop (aka Link Party, Linky Party, Link up Party, Blog Link Party, Blog Carnival) is fun a way to discover and follow blogs, as well as promote your own. On a regular basis the host poses a topic, active blogging members discuss it, and then link to their posts.
Some hosts will offer an email reminder list (automatically, or as an opt-in feature) so that you will reminded each week, and know when the party goes live (aka, when the post is published). A great way to get your best blog posts in front of new readers is to participate in link parties.

I am not an expert. But I have been around the blogging scene for some time now. And I’d like to share some of my mistakes and lessons learned for the new bloggers. (Although I think some of you are way past me already, I still need content for my own site, and possibly this post will help somebody, haha.)

The Guy Behind the Blog

The Guy Behind the Blog

Once a month I talk about what’s going on in my life at that moment with Currently posts, and then the kids get a monthly post where they get to shine; this post is where Ry gets to take over for a day each month. Hosted by Betsy and Laura, TGBTB linkup is on the last Thursday of each month if you’d like to join up too! Plus it means I get to spotlight this amazing man I have been blessed to share my life with for the past 15 years 😉

In case you are new around here: Ry and I were high school sweethearts, married after I graduated high school, he enlisted in the USAF, and our first kiddos arrived 4 years after that. Our oldest is 5, our daughter is 2.5, and our youngest just hit 8 months.

Currently :: January 2016

Currently

January starts a new year, one in which I hope to grow my blog and increase posting frequency. One of the easiest ways to kill two birds with one stone is to join link up prompts.
One of my Peonies shared one today on our group’s post link up that looked simple and active.

Anne and Jenna host a “Currently” monthly link up with 5 words to describe what the writer is doing at that moment in their lives.

January’s prompts are: resolving, reading, organizing, loving, and craving.

Military Spouse Appreciation Day

Military Spouse Day or Military Spouse Appreciation Day is celebrated on the Friday before Mother’s Day in the United States. Many United States citizens take this day to acknowledge the significant contributions, support, and sacrifices of spouses of their Armed Forces.

President Ronald Reagan recognized the profound importance of spouse commitment to the readiness and well-being of military members and declared May 23, 1984 the first Military Spouse Day with Proclamation 5184, dated April 17, 1984. The US Secretary of Defense, Caspar Weinberger standardized the date by declaring the Friday preceding Mother’s Day as Military Spouse Day.

Thanks to Keating for hosting a mini-linkup; and reminding me to blog today!
Also linking up to Kathryn, Alia, and Julie‘s MSA Day blog hop.
