DaBaby is due this week, and we spent the past weekend running around like crazy between playgroup coordinator meeting, grocery shopping, a birthday party, cleaning/re-organizing, AND prepping these meals. I am sure Ry is ready for this baby to be born so we can slow down a little, haha.
Again, to ensure that we aren’t eating terribly horrible the entire time we are adjusting to having 3 babies, we are prepping some meals for the freezer to make as needed. (Hoping more than 1 friend makes us a meal this time!)
Ultrasounds don’t just reveal the baby’s gender; the procedure is done mainly to take an early look at the fetus to make sure it’s developing properly. During an ultrasound, the technician moves a device over the mother’s stomach that sends high-frequency sound waves through her uterus. The sound waves create a picture of the fetus that is viewed simultaneously on a monitor. Depending on the age and position of the fetus, the technician should be able to accurately tell if it’s a boy or a girl. This is based on the technician’s recognition of its male or female genitals. Gender determination is always done in 2D B&W technology for reliability purposes.
We are expecting a new family member to join us May 2015 (on Lea’s birthday!) And won’t be finding out the gender of RedHot until the 2nd of January, but are excited to figure out a name. We won’t be releasing our decision until we can tell RedHot their name face to face, so you’ll just have to wait 😉 (more…)
It’s my birthday again! Birthday’s are very important to me, I take them as a reminder of why I am so thankful for the person and their part in my life. For my own I like to reflect on what makes me, me, and how to improve that me. Here are random things, facts, habits, or goals about me.
I had a cat growing up, she was 20 when she died in 2007.
I love chocolate, coffee, and mashed potatoes…separately.
I used to want to change my name; but grew to love how unique it is (Well, was. Emma made top 10 girl names since 2002).
I tend to wear my levi’s to death, and hate to part with them.
I adore reading…and will stay up all night with a cliffhanger.
Purple is my all time fave color, especially lavender (scent too).
I have a black thumb, and have killed every plant I have tried to keep.
I don’t like apple pie, cheesecake, orange juice, or toffee.
If you pull up beside me in my car, I am probably singing along with the radio.
One of my nicknames is Tigger.
Happy bunny always makes me smile.
As does Grumpy Cat.
I have bad knees.
And am a very reliable weather vane.
Ry calls me CDO (it’s like OCD, but alphabetized).
I pretend to be artistic, and sometimes succeed.
Our current duty station has brought out my craftastic side.
I refuse to EVER drunk/tipsy drive, and do my damnedest to stop others from doing so.
Don’t understand serious celebrity crushes.
Can be rather vain about my hair.
Makeup is more work than I am willing to put towards my appearance 99% of the time.
All 4 of us (Ry, Jam, Lea and me) were born on a Monday.
Car seat safety is incredibly important to me, and seeing kids not being protected by their parents gives me anxiety.
Country linedancing is a great workout and I really miss going every week.
I don’t really follow astrology/tarot/etc but it fascinates me nonetheless.
I still try to learn something new every day, if nothing else it encourages my son’s thirst for knowledge.
Brutally honest and lacking in sympathy.
I HATE exercising for execising sake. Give me a to do list with some good old fashioned hard work any day!
Parents that don’t do their own research on as much as possible for their kids drive me batty.
I don’t do ‘drama’
Reality TV is trash, mainstream news is biased, and society needs to read more.
We are official past Peanut’s due date now; and are just waiting on her arrival. However, since we’ve got that nesting energy, might as well be productive. Below is a list of meals we will be preparing for the freezer tomorrow, so that we have an alternative to take out after she arrives and we don’t want to actually cook.
Little known, and fairly embarrassing fact; one of my nicknames growing up was Dumbo. I was that kid that resembled a puppy dog. Bigears, big hands, big feet, skinny. Anyway, Dumbo was one of my favorite movies, and the scene this plays has always made me cry.
Birthdays are incomplete without the ones who love and care for you. Thank you to my family and friends for making my every day special, and my birthday even more so. Whenever I get a new calender, I flip straight to my birthday month to see which picture I got. Don’t you too?
Since it’s that time of year again, I am sharing another fun post. (more…)
