The Circle :: April 2016

The Circle is a monthly link-up that was born with dreams of creating a place for bloggers to get to know one another just a little bit better and to make new friends. Hosted by Kiki at ‘In It’s Time‘ on the third Wednesday of each month. This monthly link-up is a place for bloggers to share and write on a fun, light-hearted (or possibly heavy-hearted) topics.

This month’s Post prompt from Kiki is “Letters to Our Future Selves, this is a fun concept, as I have already written a letter to my past self.

Dear 40 year old Emma,
I do hope that all is well, and that your health is good. What is it like being a teen mom? I am sure you miss the kids being little, but right now, I am in maintenance mode waiting for them to be a little more self sufficient.
Do we still homeschool the kids? (Are there anymore kids?!?!) Is there anything you wish we had done more now? I know that 10 years ago from now I was a completely different person, so I am curious what time has introduced us to between me and you. Did we ever open a restaurant or Food Truck?
What is the world like? Does Hate still prevail, or has Christian Love finally conquered? I do hope that the world has healed from the evil that runs rampant in these current times.
Do you and Ry have any new secret jokes and/or regular activities? It’s a long time, so I am sure what is relevant to me is old news to you.
Where do we live now? Being that Ry is still active duty, we live in Alaska; but right now our plans are to settle in Colorado Springs, did that pan out? I am still hoping to sell Ry on the idea of goats, chickens and such; but really doubt he will ever be on board.
Has our walk of Faith gotten stronger? Right now I feel as though I am stumbling and falling frequently. My thoughts are dark and my actions are not as loving as I’d like.
Just remember, age is only a number. You are only as old as you choose to be, and stay young at heart.
Love always
~ Me

Thanks for hosting Leah and Kiki!

A Military Spouse stationed in the middle of nowhere. Emma loves to cook for her family (while dodging dirty dishes). She is blessed to be a stay at home mom with 3 kiddos. She is passionate about cloth diapering, car seat safety, breastfeeding, homeschooling, frugal living, babywearing, and her Christian faith. More Molly Messy than Susie Homemaker, she has been trying to improve her housekeeping and related skills.

  1. Love that last line you wrote–it’s so important to stay young at heart and something I need to remind myself of, too. Fortunately, the little kids I teach help with that! 🙂
